This directory contains a note, safeMakeTeXPK.tex, which describes how
to resolve Unix security concerns arising when using an automatic
bitmap generation in TeX systems which rely on MakeTeXPK and similar
scripts.

File maketex.c is a C source of a small program you need to compile
in order to use a described approach.

MakeTeXMF, MakeTeXPK, MakeTeXTFM and append_db are modification of
scripts from  /usr/local/tex/scripts-0.2/bin/ directory in
teTeX distribution (version 0.2) for Linux prepared by
Thomas Esser <te@informatik.uni-hannover.de>.  If you happen to run
somewhat different variants use them as an example of changes
you need to perform.
